Thanks for visiting A Kinder World.com!!!
In a community we are affected by the words and actions of each other. Witnessing any act of kindness makes us feel good inside, and when we are having a less than desirable time, a kind word or gesture carries us through the rough spot.
Sometimes, kindness from others is so effective that not only it can carry a person through a day, a month, or a year, but through a lifetime.
Kindness not only gets us through a difficult situation but it is also contagious since human beings learn from each other. When we let another car pass in front of us on a busy road or let someone go ahead in a long line at the grocery store, we can be sure this kindness will be imitated by an observer if not by the person to whom we have shown kindness. Thus, if allowed to spread, a little kindness will build up to a better working, happier communities.
Lets Help Children Get Insurance Coverage
The issue of uninsured children in America has been a national social problem for many years. Americans are losing health care coverage in record numbers due to the recent national economic recession which has no doubt only escalated this dilemma. This national hardship has brought the issue of uninsured children to the forefront in Washington D.C. Advocates championing for the cause of uninsured children assert that positive outcomes associated with preventative health services for children far outweigh the costs linked with such an endeavor. Well-child visits are an example of preventative medicine that studies have shown lead to healthier children and insurance should cover this. The fact that healthy children one day become healthy productive adults is a point made by many who support the availability of health care for all U.S. children. Children of the United States will one day be the backbone of our nation's workforce. Supporters of finding a solution related to the topic of uninsured children point out the obvious moral obligations to provide health care services for this dependent population that is the responsibility of all Americans.
Research has indicated that many children eligible for state-funded health care coverage do not take advantage of the benefit. There are various factors that contribute to low enrollment in the income-based health care programs. Many parents are simply not educated about the availability of state-supported health programs for children. Other parents are intimidated by the in-depth enrollment processes involved with securing such health care. Legislation has been proposed in some states to simplify the enrollment process with measures such as annual application cycles. Some states such as Texas have introduced legislation that would allow parents who barely exceeded the income limits of their states' income-based insurance to purchase health coverage for their children by paying sliding scale premiums. This legislation ultimately did not pass but is an example of creative attempts to provide health care for children who have fallen through the gaps.
The media is currently flooded with news related to a national health care reform initiative moving through the channels in Washington. There are ongoing debates and continual speculation about what the future for this nation holds related the current distressed health care system. Many are hopeful that the movement for health care reform being proposed for all Americans will result in a decrease in the number of uninsured children in this country. The American Medical Association estimates that almost nine million children in the United States lack health care coverage. These statistics are unacceptable by any standards.
